HELP welcomes volunteers throughout the year. Our volunteer program strives to meet the
interests of people who feel committed to our mission, goals and purposes. HELP seeks caring
and responsible people to donate time on weekly afternoons or evenings and participate in
our structured volunteer programs as well as support the youth and families we serve.
Volunteers serve as mentors in our after-school program. They provide academic tutoring and
supervision for our after-school and adult students. They serve as arts and crafts, sport,
music or special skills instructors; help us fundraise and do community outreach; act as
professional mentors and introduce our youth to internships at their places of business or
other professional settings.
Join our organization so you can make a positive impact on a person’s life. Schedules are
flexible; you may help out once a week, every other week or more often, depending on your
schedule. No experience is necessary; we provide orientation, training, and supervision.
To learn more about becoming a volunteer, call (718) 282-3680 or contact us at
info@helpcenters.org and provide your full name, phone number and street address to receive
a volunteer information packet by mail/e-mail. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age,
have excellent communication skills and make at least a three-month commitment.
