Philosophy

Addressing comprehensively the needs of individuals and their families falls within

HELP’s longstanding mission and commitment of helping to strengthen families as they strive

towards self-reliance. A central feature of HELP’s service delivery is a holistic and

strength-based empowerment approach. This model includes the entire family and provides it

with the tools to acknowledge and apply its own strengths toward self-improvement.

Values

Positive Empowerment ...

HELP is committed to improving the educational, social, cultural, and economic

well-being of the individuals and families it serves through the provision of programs and

services of the highest quality.
*
HELP's programs and services focus on the strengths of the participants. They build

upon the participants’ skills to help them reach their full potential and self-reliance.
*
HELP encourages staff development and offers a creative work environment that fosters

freedom of expression and encourages staff to independently resolve problems that impede

participants’ progress in reaching their goals.
*
HELP's staff members are dedicated, client focused, high energy, empathetic,

culturally competent, and ready to meet the challenges of service delivery to a diverse

community.
*
HELP is a rapidly evolving organization. It will continue to strive to provide

culturally appropriate interpretations and responses to emerging challenges that community

residents may face.
